In memoriam Jos Berkers

On October 3rd, Jos Berkers, member of TTV Koningslust, passed away.
Jos was one of the founders of TTV Koningslust and is still very involved with the association. After its foundation, he has meant a lot to the club. He was chairman, board member, trainer and sparring partner for the youth, coach and in recent years also a fanatic trainer of the recreational group within the association. His dedication, passion and enthusiasm cannot have escaped anyone’s notice.
In the past, he traveled far and wide for table tennis. Both as a coach of his own youth, but also to enjoy the beautiful game. He could therefore enjoy the sport intensely.
Until last spring, he played competition in the weekday recreational competition in North and Central Limburg, where he was a difficult player to beat. Before that, he played on the Saturday competition. Anyone who has ever played against Jos knows the “hairs of elephant tails”. Or the “Wieht?” when he played the ball over the table.
During the third half, Jos often evaluated the matches again, so that the next time they would play even better.
Unfortunately, he was not able to win his last match.
